Tuesdays - Social dancing
@Unitarian Hall, Victoria Street
See "getting there", below, for directions and parking information.
7.15 pm – Doors open
7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Drop-in Lindy Hop class (beginners welcome!)
8:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Social dancing! Try out your moves and dance to music from our DJs.
Cost: £8 card/contactless, on the door. £10 on nights with a live band.
Please do not attend if you have COVID or cold/flu symptoms.
The drop-in class starts from the very beginning each week and teaches you enough to try out social dancing. We'll usually throw in something new for more experienced dancers too!
If you've been coming to Tuesdays for a bit and you're now looking to build up from week to week rather than starting from the beginning each week, we also have the Wednesday Beginners classes which progress from week to week.
There’s no need to bring a partner: we rotate partners during the lesson, and during the social people ask each other to dance. However, if you bring a partner you want to stay with rather than rotating, that’s also fine.
Forthcoming band nights
26 September 2023
We Got That Swing
10 October 2023
Last Chance Ragtime Band
The Unitarian Hall is attached to Cambridge Unitarian Church. There's a side entrance on Victoria Street for the Hall.
The railings on Emmanuel Road which border Christ's Pieces might be a good place to lock a bike.
For car parking, there are some spaces on Park Terrace which are free after 6 pm. Most of the street parking in the area, including Victoria Street, is Residents Only until 8 pm. The nearest off road parking is in the Grafton West or Queen Anne Terrace car parks, both of which are free after 6 pm.
