Improvers and intermediates course

Details
Join us this October for a month of fast feet, uplifting music, and high-energy dancing as we explore even more collegiate shag, a lively partner dance that emerged during the swing era of the 1930s. Known for its playful feel, quick footwork, and infectious energy, collegiate shag is all about having fun, connecting with your partner, and letting the music drive your movement. This month's block is aimed at improvers and intermediates, following on from September. You should have attended at least two previous blocks of Collegiate Shag, feel confident with the basics, and be able to dance fluently through a full song in closed, side by side and open position, including some breaks and shapes. Throughout the month, we will work on building your confidence in key partner dancing skills such as leading and following, rhythm, connection and musicality. You will learn how to adapt your dancing at different speeds, challenge your partner with more complex moves, and develop your own style of collegiate dance. The course will span 4 weeks. Lessons are 75 minutes long and begin at 7:30 pm. An Access to Dance coupon code is available, giving a £12 discount for those who would otherwise be unable to afford to attend. Use the ACCESS2DANCE code at the checkout.
