Details
Join Immy and Paula for four weeks full of energy and fun. Boogie Woogie is a playful and improvised swing dance from the 1950s, danced to medium-uptempo 4/4 rhythm and blues or rock and roll music. It is an uplifting, yet groovy dance with a focus on footwork, improvisation and musicality. This workshop is for everyone who likes fun and playful dancing and wants to enrich their swing dance repertoire with a groovy style. We will go over the basic footwork and bounce, refine lead and follow technique with a focus on what differs from Lindy Hop, play with musicality and improvisation and teach you figures to confidently rock a rhythm and blues dance floor. It is recommended that you have been attending regular classes in Lindy Hop for at least 3 months and are confident in both the 6- and 8-count basic. It is not required that you have attended the Boogie Down to Cambridge Workshop. These lessons will last 75 minutes and start at 7.30 pm. An Access to Dance coupon code is available, giving a £12 discount for those who would otherwise be unable to afford to attend. Use the ACCESS2BOOGIE code at the checkout.
