Aerials workshop

Aerials Workshop, taught by the wonderful Bruce and Jane from Hull.

This will be a three hour workshop with a fixed partner of your choice. You will be practicing/training with your partner only, so please bear this in mind and make sure you have found someone that you are comfortable practicing and performing aerials with.

Tickets cost £55 for a partnered ticket (per couple, not per person).

Please be aware, you will need to have your partner's name and email address ready when you sign up.

A little about Bruce and Jane:

Having first discovered Lindy Hop in the mid 2000s, Bruce and Jane were instrumental in founding Kingston Swing in Hull in 2008, and have spent the past 15 years teaching Lindy and Aerials across the UK and Europe, as well as organising Hull's now legendary Hullzapoppin' international Swing Dance festival. Flashy lifts and tricks were what sparked Bruce’s interest in swing dance; landing safely is what's maintained Jane's interest in flashy lifts and tricks! Their aerials classes usually have a high degree of fun paired with plenty of vital technique and a respectable tip of the hat to health and safety to achieve big results safely and in a short space of time… you’ll believe a Lindyhopper can fly!!!

Aerials, or airsteps, have been a key part of swing dance since the beginning. When talking to Frankie Manning about aerials, his eyes would light up about the joy of aerials, and how they can add dimension and wow-factor to performances and jam circles.
