Access to Dance
We believe that everyone should have access to opportunities to dance and learn, no matter your financial situation. Along with price reductions for regular classes in March 2023, we're introducing an Access to Dance scheme from 1st March 2023.
Drop-in classes
ACCESS TO DANCE PASSES
For each of our weekly classes and socials on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays where you'd usually pay on the door, we offer a number of passes, enabling anyone experiencing financial difficulty to attend free.
There are a fixed number of passes available each night. These are given out first come, first served. To make use of one, just ask the door volunteer. You don’t need to explain your situation, no questions will be asked. The door volunteers will be keeping track of how many passes are used with our payment app, but this won't be associated with your name.
VOLUNTEERING on THE DOOR
If you can spare the time, our door volunteers at the weekly classes also get in for free on the night they volunteer. See our FAQ for details.
Pre-booked classes and events
For our pre-booked events and the Shall We Dance? classes on Wednesdays, we may be able to help out, depending on the budget for that event (as a non-profit, most of our events are budgeted to break even).
To discuss this, please contact the Safer Spaces and Equality officers. You can speak with any of them (they're pictured with a safety pin on the committee page) or email welfare@cambridgeswingdance.com. This email address is read by a smaller group than the committee as a whole and your request will be kept confidential to that group.
